Edition 1. Post No.2

Making a Difference,

We come in contact with hundreds of thousands of people through our life. Some people carry more significance in our lives than others, some people impact who we are and who we become, and some people represent who and what we aspire to be. What if were given the opportunity to meet every person whose life you impacted, would you take that chance?  What if you could go back in time and tell someone who impacted who you are today, would you take that chance?  Well I’m going to give you a once in a life time chance to rewrite history.
(Per say)  Of course I can’t go back in time, but what I can do is give you a chance to impact some one’s life, in order to become a part of their purpose.  People always say they wish they could go back in time and tell someone what an impact that they had on their life.  I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to be kind to each other, to tell someone “Hey you made a difference in my life” in the moment. I decided that I’m going to challenge myself to tell someone when they have impacted my life, and I challenge you to do the same. A little over a year and a half ago I decided that I wanted to lose weight , focus on my health, and improve my diet. There were just a few problems, I HATED working out, I LOVED all things fat and extra sweet, and I had tried every diet plan now to woman. When people asked how it was coming along, I politely smiled and said GREAT! (but in my mind I wanted to punch them in the face and say DO I LOOK LIKE I’M LOSING WEIGHT) I’m so not a violent person (really).  I avoided the gym like a plague, after I lost two pounds I’d celebrate with a fat and sweet filled EVERTHING, then it hit me like a ton a bricks………..If I tried EVERYTHING then I would be exactly where I wanted to be.  I gained control over my diet, I eat clean for the most part (I’m a vegetarian), the only thing left for me to do was conquer the gym. I got a gym membership, BUT this time I decided to take a different approach, instead of running on a treadmill, lifting free weights, and checking out the manscape …( who am I kidding 2 out of 3 is good enough, I still check out the manscape) I decided to join Zumba. The first two or three classes I left early, and the next few  classes I think people hated me because I was terribly uncoordinated( it was sad), about eight classes in I decided, I’m going to do this, and I moved to the front, and I haven’t looked back.  Fast forward to the present, I have lost almost 25lbs but I didn’t do it alone, I had friends, family, frienemies, and naysayers to push me (let your haters be your motivators).  I also had Deb and Alva. They are the Zumba instructors who happen to be sisters. They are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! They are two women, who outside of Zumba, I do not know, I don’t know their last names, and up until a week ago didn’t know they had children. Every Monday, a possible impromptu Wednesday, and Friday we turn up the music and we party with 70 of our closest friends, then the music stops, and I’m instantly remind by the sweat that this isn’t a swanky night club, but in a dance studio. Although most people that attend class don’t know Deb and Alva outside of zumba, or their last names, or that they have children, but for 60 minutes they become friends that help motivate us to keep going, and cheer for us to reach whatever the goal is that brings us here.  Three times a week these two touch, change, and impact the lives of hundreds of people, who may not have the support system or the confidence to be more than what they are now.  I know this because I hear people say how amazing they are, and how the class has changed their life. When people look good, they feel good, and when they feel good life becomes better all around. So to Deb and Alva let me be one of the first people to tell you: Thank you for the impact that you have had on my life! If you have any dating tips please pass that along too!
