If you have read any of my blog post
about hair products and my recipes then you might think that I only use natural
products. Not true! I incorporate store bought hair products too. I have used
every product that promises to give me boing-y curls, fluffy, light, bouncy,
shiny, blah, blah, blah, blah. Being natural can be very frustrating especially
when you know the results you want, but aren’t sure what products to use to achieve
the desired results. You spend money and time, on product after product. Trust
me I know I’ve been there. Once I stopped searching for the "Ultimate
Product" and went back to the basics my hair just took off growing. In
order for hair to grow and retain length (specifically natural hair, no matter
what type or texture, kinky, curly, or coily) all you need is moisture. Let
tell you something, the ONLY true moisturizer is Water. Period. Next your hair
is dead once it breaks through the scalp, Period. All you can do is preserve
hair until it reaches in final growth stage. Period. Are we on the same page?
Yes.
Stop wasting your money on expensive products, when you can make the same
product for a 1/4 of the cost. Here me out.
I'm a HUGE fan of Trader Joes, about 5 months ago, I decided
to give there conditioners a try, and I was in heaven. It’s cheap it has
amazing ingredients, I personally don’t think that you need to add any other
products to the Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner or the Moisture Balance
Conditioner. I decided to discontinue the use of my Kera Care Restorative
Treatment. Now I take one of my Trader Joe Conditioners, and add olive oil,
coconut oil, two drops of peppermint oil (or any essential oil), brahmi, and
amla. I have just created my own luxe Deep Conditioner, using my ingredients I
already had. I will be posting several recipes over the next few days, on how
to upgrade cheap shampoo, conditioners, moisturizers, gels, and other styling
products. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to get great results, that’s
something I wish I knew before I started wasting my time and money.
