Five
things you can do in less than 30 minutes to boost your mood
There are few things in the world that are able to transcend all barriers, and looking good and feeling good are a few of those things. I have never come a across someone that feels otherwise (not to say that they don't exist.) Check out the list below, and make a commitment to do just one of the things below once a week.
1. Give yourself a facial! What is
more relaxing then a facial! I know you’re thinking I wash my face daily, isn't
that a facial? NO! Thank God you have this blog, lol. You don’t have to go out
and purchase an overpriced facial scrub; in fact everything you need is in your
kitchen. Seriously! Here is what you need to great your "spa"
get-a-way.
· A large container to mix and store facial scrub (preferably
a jar with a lid, like a Tupperware container).
· 1 Cup of Olive Oil, (or grape seed oil, sunflower oil, or
sweet almond oil)
· 1 Cup of Brown Sugar
· 1 Tablespoon of Pure Honey
Mix all your ingredients together
and you have an exfoliating face scrub. Prior to and after I like to soak a
thick face cloth in HOT water, for a few seconds, I squeeze out the excess
water, and place the cloth over my face until it cools. It feels A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
2.) Give yourself a
manicure/pedicure. I love going to a salon for my mani and pedi, but recently I
noticed i actually like painting my own nails. Its more relaxing then you might
think. Its also time that you spend doing something for yourself. Check out my
blog on how to DIY Manicure.
3.) On your way home from work one
day stop and pick up three of your favorite magazines, (I dont know about you
but I LOVE tabloid and fashion magazines. Carve out 30 minutes sometime during
the day and go to a quiet place or your favorite place to relax, and have a
glass of wine, latte, or tea to have while you indulge.
4.) Take a hike, run, or walk
outside. If you’re anything like me you’re not a fan of the "natural
elements", but fresh air has amazing power over your senses. Studies show
that 30 minutes of moderate exercise, and fresh hair can add a year to your
life if done once a week for extended periods of time. I recommend the evening
time when its cooler outside. Take a friend, go it alone, or take your pet on a
walk.
5.) Meditate! Simple, right? If you don’t know how to
meditate, no worries, I have you covered. Now I’m not Deepak Chopra, but I'm
curious as to whether or not meditation really "works", and I say
Heck Yeah! You can meditate any time, as many times, and any place ( I suggest
a quiet place), you want. To read more about meditation click here. Light some candles and just relax it’s that
simple.
